George West has won eight straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Odem has won eight straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Longhorns will host the Owls at 7:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for Odem on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Taft out of the water with a 40-6 final score. Give the Owls' offense some serious credit: that high-scoring performance was actually the fewest points they've scored all season.
Odem had a senior duo take command as John Hinojosa rushed for 271 yards and three TDs and Martin Castillo rushed for 95 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only ten carries. Those 271 rushing yards set a new season-high mark for Hinojosa.
Odem's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for George West, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0.
Everything went George West's way against Odem in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as George West made off with a 46-23 win. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Hinojosa, who rushed for 126 yards and a pair of scores. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Longhorns still be able to contain Hinojosa? There's only one way to find out.
