Baseball Recap: Kountze's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

If Kountze was feeling good fresh off their 11-1 takedown of Buna last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Kountze took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Buna on Thursday. The Lions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cougars earlier this season, when they won 11-1.

With the loss, Kountze broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-7. As for Buna, their victory bumped their record up to 9-10.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Kountze will square off against rival Orangefield at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Kountze 3.2, Orangefield 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Buna is set to face off against their familiar foe Anahuac at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
