Baseball Game Preview: Baird Bears vs. Jayton Jaybirds

Baird is 0-3 against Jayton since March of 2025 but things could change on Friday. The Bears will head out on the road to challenge the Jaybirds at 5:00 p.m. Baird has given up an average of 10.4 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Baird's offense. They came up short against Hamlin on Wednesday, falling 16-0.

Jayton never got on the board in their matchup on Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Aspermont on Monday. They blew past the Hornets 20-5. Considering the Jaybirds have won five contests by more than eight runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Jayton has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11.7 runs. As for Baird, their loss dropped their record down to 4-11.

Baird suffered a grim 10-1 defeat to Jayton in their previous meeting last Monday. Can the Bears avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
