Softball Recap: Laton Takes a Loss

Laton lost against McFarland back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Mustangs lost 24-5 to the Cougars. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Laton saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jade Perez, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Perez is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another was Madison Heffley, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI.

Laton's defeat dropped their record down to 12-10. As for McFarland, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-13.

Coming up, Laton will challenge Wonderful College Prep Academy at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs are facing the Lions at the right time seeing as the Lions are stuck on a 12-game losing streak. McFarland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
