Basketball Game Preview: Patrick County Cougars vs. Radford Bobcats

Patrick County is 0-3 against Radford since January of 2024 but things could change on Wednesday. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Patrick County Cougars take on the Radford Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Patrick County came up short against Glenvar on Monday, falling 73-52. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 298th, while the Highlanders are ranked 93rd).

Meanwhile, Radford suffered their closest loss since February 10, 2024 on Monday. They fell just short of Roanoke Catholic by a score of 55-53.

This is the second loss in a row for Patrick County and nudges their season record down to 5-12. As for Radford, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.
