Baseball Game Preview: Lincoln Abes vs. Gig Harbor Tides

For the second straight game, Lincoln will face off against Gig Harbor. The Abes will venture away from home to square off against the Tides at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lincoln has given up an average of 11.4 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Monday just wasn't the day for Lincoln's offense. They came up short against Gig Harbor on Monday, falling 16-0. The Abes haven't had much luck with the Tides recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

For Gig Harbor's part, Quentin Bockhorn looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Bockhorn is becoming a predictor of the Tides' success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is undefeated (and 3-6 when he doesn't).

At the plate, Gig Harbor got a massive performance out of Jake Cuda, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those three runs gave Cuda a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hunter Payne, who went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

Gig Harbor always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .619. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win got Gig Harbor back to even at 6-6. As for Lincoln, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
