Volleyball Recap: Liberty Common Takes a Loss

Liberty Common was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Severance Silver Knights. The Eagles were not able to make up for their defeat to the Silver Knights from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

The match came down to the wire multiple times:two sets needed extra rallies to declare a winner. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-14, 29-27.

Leading Severance to victory were Olivia Butler and Zoe Engrav. Butler had seven digs and five aces, while Engrav had five aces and four digs. Those five aces gave Butler a new career-high. Dalaynie Loftin also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Liberty Common's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Severance, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Liberty Common will face off against Brush at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Severance, they will take on Greeley Central at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
