Baseball Recap: Antioch Sets Scoring Season-High Against Stratford

Antioch had lost ten straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 0-14 to make it 11. They fell just short of the Stratford Spartans by a score of 12-11. On the bright side, the 11- run performance marked the Bears' highest-scoring game to date.

As for Stratford, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-4. With that win, they brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

For Stratford's part, Kobe Buford was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph De Dios Lopez, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Antioch will take on Hume-Fogg at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Stratford, they will challenge Pearl-Cohn at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
