Baseball Recap: Seneca's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Two

Seneca won the last time they faced West-Oak and things went their way on Saturday too. The Seneca Bobcats' pitcher stepped up to hand the West-Oak Warriors a 17-0 shutout. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bobcats.

Luke McGuffin looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on William Cutshall, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Joey McGovern, who scored three runs while going 2-for-4.

Seneca's record now sits at 5-1. As for West-Oak, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Coming up, Seneca will head out to take on Travelers Rest at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Seneca is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10 runs per game this season. West-Oak will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Seneca at 5:00 p.m. on March 19th.
