Basketball Game Preview: Union Knights vs. Columbus Sailors

The Union Knights are taking a road trip to challenge the Columbus Sailors at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Union has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Union is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They enjoyed a cozy 51-34 win over East Marshall on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Knights as it spelled an end to their 14-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Columbus, who bounced back after a loss on the road back in December of 2024. They blew past Cedar Valley Christian, posting a 79-11 win. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Sailors considering their 11-point performance the game before.

Union's victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-10. As for Columbus, their win ended a ten-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-6.

Union was taken down by Columbus 62-29 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Union avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
