Baseball Recap: Malakoff Comes Up Short

Malakoff and Gladewater squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Malakoff had to settle for second. They lost 10-1 to the Bears. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Tigers couldn't push the score so high this time.

Malakoff saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wyatt Wallace, who went 2-for-4 with one run.

Malakoff's loss dropped their record down to 20-6-3. As for Gladewater, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-9 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Gladewater beat Malakoff by a score of 5-0 later that day.
