Soccer Game Preview: Mater Academy Charter vs. Downtown Doral

The Mater Academy Charter Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Downtown Doral Dolphins at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

On Monday, Mater Academy Charter might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Sports Leadership & Management an easy 5-1 win. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 358th, while Wolves are ranked 111th).

Meanwhile, Downtown Doral managed to keep up with MAST Academy until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Downtown Doral lost 4-0 to MAST Academy.

Downtown Doral's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-3-1. As for Mater Academy Charter, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-7.
