Volleyball Recap: Dinuba Falls Despite Big Games from Delilah Rangel and Cambria Gasca-Alderete

Dinuba came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 3-0 to the Lemoore Tigers. The loss continues a trend for the Emperors in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost five in a row.

While Dinuba had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-21, 25-18.

Dinuba's loss came despite strong showings from Cambria Gasca-Alderete and Delilah Rangel. Gasca-Alderete had seven kills, three aces, and two blocks, while Rangel had seven kills, two aces, and one block. Gasca-Alderete is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had six or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Dinuba's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 9-11. As for Lemoore, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-4.

Dinuba didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Tulare Union on the 1st. As for Lemoore, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Tulare Western on the 1st.
