Spencer/Columbus got their first taste of in-conference action on Friday and they started things off strong. They enjoyed a cozy 27-8 win over the Wittenberg-Birnamwood Chargers. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Rockets' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin football rankings (they are ranked 269th, while the Chargers are ranked 100th).

Spencer/Columbus' win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Wittenberg-Birnamwood, they now also have a losing record of 2-3.

Looking ahead, Spencer/Columbus will square off against Amherst at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rockets will need to watch out since the Falcons have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Wittenberg-Birnamwood, they will challenge Loyal/Greenwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Loyal/Greenwood's defense has only allowed 14.4 points per game this season, so Wittenberg-Birnamwood's offense will have their work cut out for them.
