Baseball Recap: Cyprus Snags Seventh Victory in Last Eight Games

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Cyprus had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Wasatch Wasps as they made off with a 10-4 win. Considering the Pirates have won 13 contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Easton Seeley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four earned runs on ten hits.

At the plate, Cyprus got a big performance out of Brody Densley, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run. That's the most RBI Densley has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Nick Griffel, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Cyprus kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive matchups.

Cyprus has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Wasatch, their loss dropped their record down to 16-12.

Cyprus will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wasps: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.
