Basketball Game Preview: Artesia Bulldogs vs. Goddard Rockets

The Artesia Bulldogs will square off against the Goddard Rockets at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Artesia is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Portales on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Artesia lost 57-32 to Portales. The Bulldogs were down 41-21 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Meanwhile, Goddard ended up a good deal behind Lovington on Tuesday and lost 78-61. The Rockets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Artesia has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season. As for Goddard, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-10.

Artesia came up short against Goddard when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 54-47. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Goddard's Aubrie Bolanos, who went 8 of 14 en route to 18 points along with eight steals and five rebounds.
