Baseball Game Preview: Sumner Tigers vs. Machias Bulldogs

The Sumner Tigers are taking a road trip to take on the Machias Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Sumner's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three games, but Wednesday's match will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Monday, Sumner didn't have quite enough to beat Bangor Christian and fell 3-2.

Meanwhile, while Machias put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Jonesport-Beals. The Bulldogs blew past the Royals 11-0. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Royals recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Machias' victory bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Sumner, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.

Sumner was able to grind out a solid win over Machias when the teams last played back in April, winning 3-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
