Basketball Game Preview: Halifax Academy Vikings vs. Neuse Christian Academy Lions

The Halifax Academy Vikings will square off against the Neuse Christian Academy Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Halifax Academy is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

Last Tuesday, Halifax Academy came up short against Faith Christian and fell 69-59. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game two weeks ago (55), the Vikings still had to take the loss.

Defeat or not, Halifax Academy got some senior leadership from Landon Peoples and Jacob Crawford. Peoples posted 20 points along with seven boards and three steals, while Crawford went 6 of 11 on his way to 15 points. That was a full 33.9% of Halifax Academy's points, marking the third time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Thad Harris, who scored six points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Meanwhile, Neuse Christian Academy was beaten by Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill 56-23 last Monday. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Neuse Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Aidan Graham put up 12 points and four steals. The dominant performance gave Graham a new career-high in steals.

Neuse Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Halifax Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-15.
