Baseball Recap: Stanton Takes a Loss

Stanton fell victim to Crane and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Cranes by a score of 2-0. The Buffaloes have struggled against the Cranes recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Gage McCown spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on eight hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

Stanton's loss dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Crane, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 8-9.

Coincidentally, Stanton and Crane will both be playing Coahoma the next time they take the field. The Cranes will head out to face the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Buffaloes will host them at 12:00 p.m. on the 26th.
