Basketball Game Preview: Holbrook Roadrunners vs. Alchesay Falcons

The Holbrook Roadrunners will challenge the Alchesay Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Saturday, Holbrook didn't have too much trouble with Monument Valley as they won 54-39. Given the Roadrunners' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 120th, while the Mustangs are ranked 243rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Alchesay waltzed into their matchup on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Bulldogs 68-46. The Falcons pushed the score to 55-30 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bulldogs cut but never quite recovered from.

Holbrook better focus on containing Adrian Dosela and Max Antonio as the pair were huge in Alchesay's win. Dosela went 6 for 12 en route to 16 points, while Antonio went 6 of 8 on his way to 14 points and five boards. That's the most points Dosela has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Judah Yazzie, who posted seven points.

Holbrook is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.9 points per game. As for Alchesay, their victory bumped their record up to 19-7.

Holbrook was able to grind out a solid win over Alchesay in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, winning 52-42. Will Holbrook repeat their success, or does Alchesay have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
