Softball Recap: Tarpon Springs Comes Up Short

Tarpon Springs was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 14-4 to the East Lake Eagles. The Spongers were not able to make up for their loss to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Tarpon Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for East Lake, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tarpon Springs will host Lakewood at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Spongers are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for East Lake, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Dunedin at 7:00 p.m. The Falcons' pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
