Recap: Scotland Christian Academy Saints vs. Southview Christian Conquerors

If the Scotland Christian Academy Saints were riding high off their 60-12 takedown of the Raleigh Christian Academy Eagles last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Scotland Christian Academy took a 43-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of Southview Christian on Thursday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Scotland Christian Academy has scored all season.

Several Saints players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Layla Nicolosi, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Nicolosi is absolutely dominating the point category: she's posted at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season. Zoey Neff was another key contributor, scoring ten points.

Scotland Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Southview Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Scotland Christian Academy will challenge Calvary Christian at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. Calvary Christian will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. As for Southview Christian, they will head out on the road to square off against Rockwell Christian School at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Rockwell Christian School will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 430th, while Southview Christian is ranked 211th).
