Basketball Recap: Tokay Comes Up Short

Tokay was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were beaten by the Bear Creek Bruins 80-50. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 67-53 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2023.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jason Hallstrom, who posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Marcus Shoneff, who had ten points.

Bear Creek's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Eddie Andeola, who scored 18 points. The dominant performance gave Andeola a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Duncan, who put up 15 points.

Tokay's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-11. As for Bear Creek, their win bumped their record up to 11-9.

Tokay has already played their next matchup, an 82-60 victory against Edison on the 24th. As for Bear Creek, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 49-40 win against Chavez on the 24th.
