Softball Recap: Cretin-Derham Hall Takes a Loss

Cretin-Derham Hall fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Woodbury on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Royals by a score of 10-9. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Raiders, who until this game were averaging 3.94 runs allowed.

Kaiya Anderson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run. Cat Kohorst also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Cretin-Derham Hall's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Woodbury, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-9.

Cretin-Derham Hall and Woodbury could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Minnesota Rankings. The Raiders will face off against Stillwater at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday with a big rank disadvantage (71 vs. 9). Meanwhile, Woodbury (ranked 118th) will meet Forest Lake (ranked first) at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
