Judge Memorial Catholic and Providence Hall are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. The Bulldogs are taking a road trip to take on the Patriots at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Judge Memorial Catholic is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7 runs per game this season.
Judge Memorial Catholic fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Summit Academy on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bears by a score of 5-4. That's two games in a row now that the Bulldogs have lost by just one run.
Judge Memorial Catholic saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jeter Soto, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI. Another was Miles Augustine, who scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Providence Hall won against Summit Academy two weeks ago with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again last Friday. The Patriots came out on top against Judge Memorial Catholic by a score of 11-7. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 13, 2023, but that streak is no more.
Ayden Rose was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Jared Wagner was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
This is the second loss in a row for Judge Memorial Catholic and nudges their season record down to 6-10. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only one runs. As for Providence Hall, they pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Judge Memorial Catholic hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .313. However, it's not like Providence Hall struggles in that department as they've averaged .353. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Judge Memorial Catholic couldn't quite get it done against Providence Hall when the teams last played last Friday as they fell 11-7. Can the Bulldogs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
