Volleyball Recap: Wesleyan Gets the Win

Wesleyan posted their closest win since September 19, 2024 on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Grayson Rams, sneaking past 2-1. For the Wolves, this counts as revenge for the 2-0 victory the Rams walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2023.

Emma Jane Gillis paced Wesleyan's offense, picking up ten kills. Gillis got some help from Caroline Stickney and her 26 assists. Allie Godfrey and Ellie Brooke Selbee kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Defeat or not, Grayson got some senior leadership from Laila Holley and Laila Colegrove. Holley had 16 digs and two aces, while Colegrove had seven digs and three aces. Those 16 digs set a new season-high mark for Holley.

Wesleyan is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. As for Grayson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 23-9.

Looking ahead, Wesleyan will face off against Mount Vernon at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Grayson, they will welcome Archer at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
