Volleyball Recap: Stadium Tigers vs. Yelm Tornados
Stadium couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 3-0 to the Yelm Tornados on Tuesday. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tornados apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2014.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 28-26, 25-13.
Despite the loss, Stadium had strong showings from Ana Palaki, who had 17 digs, and Addison Millan, who had three aces and 12 assists. Palaki is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in the last five games she's played dating back to last season.
Yelm was led to victory by Kinsley Corak and Layah Hicks. Corak had 13 digs, while Hicks had 22 digs and four aces. The last time Hicks' hitting percentage was this high was back in October of 2023.
Stadium will head out to take on Auburn at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Stadium is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. As for Yelm, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against WF West at 7:15 p.m.
