Basketball Recap: Elizabeth Takes a Loss

Elizabeth was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were outmatched by the Falcon Falcons and fell 76-14. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 248th, while the Falcons are ranked 105th).

Larissa Wesbrook was Elizabeth's leading scorer, having posted four points. Aliana Quintana-ritter took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Falcon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cobelyn Wiesner, who went 6-for-10 en route to 17 points and three steals. Wiesner has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Hunter, who went 6-for-12 on her way to 12 points and eight rebounds.

Elizabeth's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Falcon, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-6.

Elizabeth has already played their next game, a 49-33 loss against Sand Creek on the 14th. As for Falcon, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 63-4 victory against Mitchell on the 14th.
