Basketball Recap: Mounds View Gets the Win

Mounds View waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. In a tight match that could have gone either way, they made off with a 64-63 win over the Waconia Wildcats. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while the Wildcats are ranked 151st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mounds View's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Waconia, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Mounds View will finish 2024 at home by hosting Andover at 1:00 p.m. on December 30th. Waconia and Academy of Holy Angels will round out the year against one another at at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
