The Truth About Trinity: Episode 4 – Deion Sanders shares tough love and high-stepping advice

The coaching staff, led by NFL Hall of Fame cornerback Deion Sanders, the squad's offensive coordinator, largely agreed not to enter the field to help a player who is mildly injured.

"Unless we see bone or blood, we're not coming out there," Sanders told parents in a mid-season meeting.

The mantra "Get up," was at the core of Episode 4 in the MaxPreps five-part feature, "The Truth About Trinity." A chapter from the MaxPreps Learning from Legends series, the staff is teaching another life lesson in toughness to combat true hardships.

The episode also reveals challenges Jalen Reed and Reggie Walton face being raised by a single-parent, before literally high-stepping into game action of the Dallas-area private school's season-long quest for a Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS) state title following a disappointing 4-6 season.

There are plenty of highlight-reel plays from California transfer Maurice "Cali" Washington, who on the way to another long score high steps into the end zone.



Acting as if he is about to scold the Nebraska-bound tailback, Sanders instead offers some entertaining advice how to execute the celebration.

It's one of the highlights of an episode that also features an emotional district title game with a longtime rival and heated exchange between coaching staffs afterward.

To help with the 2017 transformation, Sanders brought in a handful of former NFL players, including head coach Aveion Cason (Rams, Chiefs, Lions and Cowboys) and defensive coordinator Kevin Mathis (Cowboys, Saints and Falcons).
