Football Recap: Cathedral Starts Season with Victory on the Road + How To Watch

Cathedral had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. Everything went their way against the Loyola Cubs on Friday as they made off with a 36-14 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Phantoms have posted against the Cubs since September 7, 2018.

Jaden Jefferson had a dynamite game, throwing for 235 yards and three TDs while completing 71.4% of his passes, and also rushing for 71 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only six carries. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two). 82 of Jefferson's passing yards were hauled in by Quentin Hale, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cathedral will take on Beaumont at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Loyola, they will challenge Millikan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
