Softball Recap: Port Charlotte Pirates vs. Hardee Wildcats

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Port Charlotte can now relate to. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hardee Wildcats on Tuesday. Port Charlotte has not had much luck with Hardee recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Port Charlotte saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaylin Pinedo, who went 1-for-2 with a stolen base.

On Hardee's side, Alexandra Herrera made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. Herrera was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Makayla DeLeon was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.

Port Charlotte's defeat dropped their record down to 6-18. As for Hardee, their win bumped their record up to 18-5.

As of now, neither Port Charlotte nor Hardee have any future games scheduled.
