Basketball Recap: Immaculata-La Salle Takes a Loss

Immaculata-La Salle lost against Gulliver Prep back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Immaculata-La Salle Royal Lions had to suffer through a 76-42 loss at the hands of the Gulliver Prep Raiders. While losing is never fun, the Royal Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 553rd, while the Raiders are ranked 85th).

Despite the loss, Immaculata-La Salle still got an impressive performance from Alfredo Cancelo, who went 5 for 9 en route to 13 points. Those 13 points gave Cancelo a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Michael Libera-Tait, who posted six points and six rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Immaculata-La Salle and nudges their season record down to 8-11. As for Gulliver Prep, they pushed their record up to 16-7 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Immaculata-La Salle wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 57-51 loss against Don Soffer Aventura on the 28th. As for Gulliver Prep, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-17 win against Everglades Prep Academy on the 1st.
