Softball Recap: Monday's Defeat Ends Blue Ridge's Winning Streak

Blue Ridge dropped their record down to 7-10 on Monday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Dunmore Bucks, falling 12-1. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Raiders couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Dunmore, their record now sits at 12-8. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by eight runs or more this season.

For Dunmore's part, Paige Ancherani made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Ancherani has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Jaclyn Brown was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Kylie Farr, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

As of now, neither Blue Ridge nor Dunmore have any future games scheduled.
