            New Waverly is 0-7 against Newton since October of 2018 but things could change  on Friday. The Bulldogs will head out on the road to  square off against  the Eagles  at 7:00  p.m. Both come into the  matchup bolstered by wins in their previous  matches.
New Waverly's defense heads into the  game  hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed  on Friday. They strolled past Warren with  points to spare, taking the game  14-0. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive  win against them.
Meanwhile,  winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Newton). They blew past Anderson-Shiro, posting  a  62-7 victory. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest  win of the  season.
New Waverly better keep an eye on  Kendray Porter. He was instrumental in Newton's win, picking up 144 receiving yards and a pair of  TDs, while also rushing for 104 yards and two  touchdowns on only six carries. Porter's rushing production has been exceptional  recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 104  rushing yards. Another player making a difference was  Deldrick Samuel, who gained 115 total yards and two touchdowns.
 Newton was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 315  rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  rushed for at least 315  rushing yards in three consecutive  contests.
 New Waverly's record is now 2-4. As for Newton, their record now sits at 4-1.
