Basketball Game Preview: Spaulding Crimson Tide vs. Lamoille Lancers

Spaulding and Lamoille are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2022, but not for long. The Crimson Tide are taking a road trip to square off against the Lancers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Spaulding took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They came out on top against Lyndon Institute by a score of 47-35. The Crimson Tide haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lamoille). They blew past Montpelier, posting a 92-23 win. The Lancers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Lamoille's win came from a few key players that Spaulding will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Maddex Percy, who posted 17 points and three steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Cassi Boissoneault, who put up 11 points and eight steals.

Lamoille was working as a unit and finished the game with 25 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since the start of last season.

Spaulding's record is now 7-9. As for Lamoille, their record now sits at 17-0.

Spaulding might still be hurting after the 78-57 defeat they got from Lamoille in their previous meeting back in January. Can the Crimson Tide avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
