Volleyball Recap: King City Comes Up Short

Fans were treated to a battle of the Mustangs on Thursday. King City fell just short of Monte Vista Christian by a score of 3-2. If King City was looking for revenge after losing 3-2 to Monte Vista Christian when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

King City actually scored more points across those five sets (102-98), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 25-20, 14-25, 25-22, 19-25, 15-10.

King City has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Monte Vista Christian, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 6-12.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. King City is set to square off against their familiar foe Carmel at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Monte Vista Christian will challenge rival Pacific Grove at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
