Basketball Recap: Mogadore Takes a Loss

Mogadore lost against John F. Kennedy Catholic back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Mogadore Wildcats had to suffer through a 79-49 loss at the hands of the John F. Kennedy Catholic Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 509th, while the Eagles are ranked 126th).

Nick Ryan continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for John F. Kennedy Catholic, dropping a double-double on 50 points and 12 boards. That makes it four consecutive games in which Ryan has scored at least a third of John F. Kennedy Catholic's points. Another player making a difference was Christian Swogger, who went 5 of 8 en route to 13 points and six rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Mogadore and nudges their season record down to 6-8. As for John F. Kennedy Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.

Mogadore has already played their next match (against Field), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. John F. Kennedy Catholic and Canton Central Catholic will face off at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
