Holliston fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Ashland on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Clockers by a score of 20-19. Even though they lost, the Panthers' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.5 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
Holliston got a massive performance out of Emma Kampersal, who scored three runs while going 4-for-6. Kampersal also brought in an RBI, marking her first of the season. Grace Schoenberg was another key player, scoring a run while going 4-for-7.
Holliston is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 6.5 runs this season. As for Ashland, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Holliston will host Hopedale at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Ashland, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Westwood at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
