Basketball Recap: Greenville Takes a Loss

Greenville lost against Freeburg back in December of 2019 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Greenville Comets took a 52-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Freeburg Midgets.

Freeburg's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Matt Pluff led the charge by going 5 of 11 on his way to 14 points and eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Kerr, who went 5 for 9 to rack up 11 points.

Greenville has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 15-10 record this season. As for Freeburg, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-16.

Greenville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 69-47 victory against Hillsboro on the 7th. As for Freeburg, they have also already played their next contest, a 55-46 win against Okawville on the 4th.
