Baseball Game Preview: Barbourville Tigers vs. Knox Central Panthers

Barbourville hasn't had much luck against Knox Central recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Tigers will host the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Barbourville will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

On Friday, Barbourville beat Williamsburg 15-10.

The team relied heavily on Conor West, who got on base in five of his six plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Carr, who earned two runs and two stolen bases.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, Knox Central was a bit more limited in their matchup on Saturday. They came up short against North Laurel, falling 11-1. The contest marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Knox Central saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brady Engle, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Barbourville's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.9 runs over those games. As for Knox Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season.
