Talen Steidinger and Levi Goad secure win for Prairie Central

Recap: Prairie Central Hawks vs. Eureka Hornets

The Prairie Central Hawks won the last time they faced the Eureka Hornets, and things went their way on Friday too. Prairie Central took down Eureka 57-41. Given Prairie Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 198th, while Eureka is ranked 409th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Prairie Central to victory were Talen Steidinger and Levi Goad. Steidinger scored 18 points along with six rebounds and two steals, while Goad scored 17 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Steidinger has scored all season. Gage Steidinger was another key contributor, scoring four points along with five rebounds.

Prairie Central has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-11 record this season. As for Eureka, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 11-17.

Prairie Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 66-58 loss vs. Beecher on the 10th. Eureka will head out on the road to take on Lexington at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
