Katie Gross commands the offense for Eagles win

Recap: Westwood Baptist Academy Eagles vs. Greenville Christian Academy Knights

On Friday, the Westwood Baptist Academy Eagles's game was all tied up 16-16 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They escaped with a win against Greenville Christian Academy by the margin of a single free throw, 29-28.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Westwood Baptist Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Katie Gross, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which Gross has scored at least a third of Westwood Baptist Academy's points. Maliyah Bardo-Pinter was another key contributor, scoring six points along with 14 rebounds and three steals.

Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lily Hackney, who scored eight points. The team also got some help courtesy of Leah Brown, who scored six points.

Westwood Baptist Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. As for Greenville Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-9.

Westwood Baptist Academy will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Gospel Light Christian at 1:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Hopefully Westwood Baptist Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Friday. Greenville Christian Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Living Water Christian at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. Living Water Christian is coming into the game with three straight defeats at home, meaning Greenville Christian Academy will have to defend against a squad hungry for a win.
