Baseball Game Preview: White River Valley Wolverines vs. Clay City Eels

White River Valley is 1-9 against Clay City since May of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Wolverines will head out to take on the Eels at 5:30 p.m. White River Valley has given up an average of 15.8 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

White River Valley is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 19th straight game dating back to last season on Monday. They came up short against Greencastle, falling 20-1.

Meanwhile, Clay City made easy work of North Central on Tuesday and carried off a 7-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Eels in their matchups with the Thunderbirds: they've now won seven in a row.

White River Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Clay City, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

White River Valley might still be hurting after the 12-0 loss they got from Clay City when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Wolverines avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
