Southwestern waltzed into their match on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 9-4 win over the Milan Indians. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-5 back in April.

Braxton Lewis and Jeter Chatham did most of the damage at the plate: Lewis went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one stolen base, while Chatham went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run and one double. That's the most hits Chatham has posted since back in April. Andrew Varble was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs.

Southwestern always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Milan only posted an OBP of .364.

Southwestern pushed their record up to 15-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Milan, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southwestern will challenge Scottsburg at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rebels' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Warriors have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season. As for Milan, they will take on Waldron at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
