Softball Recap: Monday's Defeat Ends Boyertown's Winning Streak

Boyertown's last matchup with Perkiomen Valley could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Monday. The Bears came up short against the Vikings, falling 9-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Bears have suffered against the Vikings since May 2, 2018.

Rielynn Carey made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Gilbert, who went 3-for-4 with one double.

The loss snapped Boyertown's winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 9-7 record. As for Perkiomen Valley, they pushed their record up to 14-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.

Coincidentally, Boyertown and Perkiomen Valley will both be playing Methacton the next time they take the field. The Bears will head out to face the Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Vikings will host them at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
