Baseball Game Preview: Troy Flying Horses vs. Averill Park Warriors

The Troy Flying Horses are taking a road trip to challenge the Averill Park Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Troy is headed out to face Averill Park after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. The Flying Horses had just enough and edged out Schalmont 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Flying Horses have posted since May 1, 2024.

Mason Berghela was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. Finn Harkin was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Monday Averill Park sidestepped Cohoes for a 4-3 victory. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Troy couldn't quite finish off Averill Park in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 and fell 7-5. Can the Flying Horses avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
