Basketball Game Preview: Kiona-Benton Bears vs. Naches Valley Rangers

Kiona-Benton is 2-8 against Naches Valley since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Kiona-Benton Bears will host the Naches Valley Rangers at 7:15 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Kiona-Benton will bounce into Friday's match after beating Wahluke, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Kiona-Benton managed a 60-56 win over Wahluke on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Naches Valley had to endure a nine-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They took down College Place 66-50 on Tuesday. That 16 point margin sets a new team best for the Rangers this season.

Kiona-Benton's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-8. As for Naches Valley, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 3-9.

Kiona-Benton didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Naches Valley when the teams last played back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 59-54 victory.
