Basketball Recap: Ridgeland Takes Down Lake Cormorant in a Playoff Battle

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Ridgeland walked away with it. They blew past Lake Cormorant 84-62 on Saturday. The victory was familiar territory for the Titans, who have now won eight contests in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ridgeland to victory, but perhaps none more so than Phil Nelson, who went 11-for-22 on his way to 31 points and eight steals. Nelson's afternoon made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Khameron Snow, who went 9-for-12 to rack up 20 points and seven steals.

Ridgeland's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 27-4. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.9 points over those games. As for Lake Cormorant, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 20-8.

As of now, neither Ridgeland nor Lake Cormorant have any future games scheduled.
