Softball Recap: Hasbrouck Heights Gets the Win

Hasbrouck Heights lost to Eastern Christian back in April of 2022, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Aviators walked away with a 6-2 win over the Eagles. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Aviators.

Maddy Connelly spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Mackenzie Riordan, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaliyah Cleffi, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Hasbrouck Heights' victory bumped their record up to 18-4. As for Eastern Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.

Hasbrouck Heights will look to defend their home field on Monday against Wallington at 4:00 p.m. The Panthers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so the Aviators' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Eastern Christian, they will take on Cliffside Park at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
